My Approach
At some point in our lives most of us have experienced distress and pain. How we cope with these experiences can have a lasting impact on how we move forward. Therapy can be a challenging process that may feel difficult at times but can also feel empowering. Have you recently experienced something you are struggling to work through? Do experiences from your past continue to affect you today? Beginning to understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected can be intimidating but we will work together to explore coping strategies and process issues that will allow you to implement change.
Many of my clients have experienced a recent life transition or loss and are struggling to move forward. I enjoy working with clients who are looking for someone to help identify why they feel stuck (i.e. depressed, anxious, sad, etc.) and how they can successfully change the way they feel.
I believe the best experiences in therapy result from a trusting client-therapist relationship. My goal is to provide a comfortable and safe space for you to begin your process.Everyone is different and I don't believe that one approach or technique will benefit everyone in the same way. I also enjoy using humor when possible which can be a powerful tool in strengthening the therapeutic bond.
